AI-native dental practice management
The dental practice management software you talk to.
Girsu is a complete dental PMS built around AI and voice from the first line of code. Chart, schedule, document, and bill by saying what you want — hands stay where they belong.
Runs on your practice data before you switch · Works through an internet outage · Nothing clinical is written without your approval

Tell it what you want. Not which screen it lives on.
Every major workflow was built to pass one test: can someone do this with their hands occupied? Voice executes actions here, it does not just dictate text into a box.
- 01
Speak in the room
Hold a key or press the orb. Local speech recognition runs on the workstation, so the audio does not have to leave the operatory for the command to land.
- 02
It resolves against context
It already knows who you are, which patient is open, which operatory you are in, and what you are allowed to see. “When was her last cleaning?” needs no name.
- 03
It acts, then shows you
Commands execute and navigate to the result. Anything clinically consequential is proposed first and waits for your approval before a single record changes.
Things people actually say to it
- Charting
26 MOD caries
Charts a mesial-occlusal-distal caries finding on tooth 26 for the patient on screen.
- Documentation
Draft my note from what we just discussed
Turns the conversation in the operatory into a structured progress note for you to review and sign.
- Scheduling
Find me an hour tomorrow afternoon
Computes the real gaps in that room's day, accounting for who is actually working.
- Recall
Who hasn't rebooked hygiene in six months?
Reads the recall list and the book, and hands back the patients to call.
- Insurance
Prepare a predetermination and write the narrative from the X-ray
Drafts the insurance narrative from the image and the clinical note, ready for review.
- Management
Why is our collections percentage lower this month?
Reads the ledger and answers in plain language, with the numbers behind it.
It can do the work. It still asks first.
The assistant reads the book, the chart, and the ledger, and proposes the writes. Nothing lands until you approve it. Signed clinical records never change quietly because a model changed its mind, and every action the AI takes is written to its own audit log.
- Multi-step requests become one approval, not five dialogs
- Every proposed write is shown in full before it happens
- Say “scratch that” and the last turn is taken back
- Separate AI audit log, on top of the normal record history

Crown seat, 60 min — fits the released block
A full dental PMS underneath the voice.
Voice is only useful if there is something real behind it. Girsu runs the whole practice — the front desk, the operatory, the imaging, and the money.
-
Clinical charting
Odontogram, perio, findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Chart by voice or by clicking — the same records either way.
-
Scheduling that reads the room
Multi-operatory, multi-provider scheduling that knows who is actually working, and can find and fill gaps on request.
-
Notes drafted from the visit
The system turns what happened into a structured progress note. You review, edit, and sign. Nothing is signed for you.
-
Imaging built in
Acquisition, viewer, and AI imaging integration — bitewings, pans, and clinical photography attached to the chart, not a separate app.
-
Insurance and claims
Coverage tracking, predeterminations, electronic claims, and AI-drafted narratives assembled from the note and the image.
-
Ledger and billing
Charges post from completed procedures, statements go out, and you can ask the ledger questions in plain language.
-
Local-first, cloud-connected
The clinic runs on its own hardware and keeps working through an outage. Encrypted sync adds remote access, backup, and mobile.
-
Plugins and open APIs
Payments, reminders, phone systems, time clock, accounting, inventory. Everything important emits an event that a plugin can subscribe to.
-
Migration as a feature
A guided wizard imports, maps, test-migrates, and reconciles your old system, with a quality report you sign off before go-live.
Conventional PMS with AI bolted on, versus AI-native.
Most dental software with AI added to it still makes you find the screen first. The difference is architectural, and you feel it on the first patient.
| Conventional PMS + AI feature | Girsu | |
|---|---|---|
| Where AI sits | A feature added to an existing product — usually a chatbot in its own tab | The interface itself. Any workflow can be reached by describing it |
| Voice | Dictation into a note field, if it exists at all | Executes actions on every screen — charting, scheduling, lookups, billing |
| Getting something done | Find the screen, then the tab, then the button, then the dialog | Say the outcome. Multi-step work becomes one approval |
| Internet outage | Cloud products stop; the practice falls back to paper | Local-first. The schedule, chart, imaging, and ledger keep working |
| Extending it | Vendor roadmap, or a closed integration list | Plugin platform and open APIs over a structured event stream |
| Switching to it | A services project you pay for and hope goes well | A guided wizard with sandbox test runs and a reconciliation sign-off |
Straight answers
What is Girsu?
Girsu is AI-native dental practice management software built to be operated by voice. It covers scheduling, clinical charting, imaging, notes, treatment planning, insurance, and billing in one system, and every one of those workflows can be driven by speaking to it instead of clicking through screens.
What does AI-native dental practice management software mean?
AI-native means the AI is the interface, not a chatbot bolted onto a conventional PMS. There is no separate tab called AI. The assistant can read the schedule, the chart, and the ledger, and can carry out real actions in them, because it was designed as the operating layer of the software rather than added on top of it.
Can a dental practice management system really be run by voice?
Yes. Voice in Girsu executes actions rather than only transcribing text. Saying "26 MOD caries" charts the finding on the right tooth for the patient already on screen. Saying "open John Smith" opens the chart. Voice works from every screen, not just a dictation box, so a clinician can work with gloved hands.
Does Girsu work without an internet connection?
Yes. Girsu is local-first. Core clinical operations — the schedule, charting, notes, imaging, and the ledger — keep running on the clinic's own hardware during an outage. Cloud connectivity adds remote access, backup, sync across locations, mobile apps, and heavier AI processing, but losing it does not stop a clinic from seeing patients.
How is Girsu different from Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental?
Those systems were designed around forms and screens, with AI features added later. Girsu was designed around natural language from the start, so most work is done by describing the intent instead of locating the right screen. It is also local-first, event-driven, and extensible through a plugin platform and open APIs.
Does the AI make clinical decisions on its own?
No. Clinically consequential documentation and actions require provider review and sign-off. The assistant proposes a plan and waits for approval before writing anything, and signed clinical records cannot silently change because a model changed its interpretation. The AI drafts, retrieves, calculates, and prepares; a clinician approves.
Can we migrate our existing patient data?
Yes, and migration is treated as a core product capability rather than a services add-on. A guided wizard identifies the source system, imports the data, maps it, runs a test migration in a sandbox, and produces a reconciliation report the clinic reviews and signs off before go-live. You can evaluate the platform on your own practice data before committing.
Where does patient data live, and is it secure?
Clinical data lives on the clinic's own infrastructure by default, with encrypted synchronization to the cloud where the clinic chooses to enable it. The architecture is designed to support HIPAA Security Rule safeguards: encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and audit logging, including a dedicated audit log of AI actions.
What platforms does Girsu run on?
The clinical application ships first on Windows, with macOS and Linux following, plus staff and patient mobile applications and a web client. It runs as a desktop application against clinic-local infrastructure so the operatory keeps working independently of the connection.
What does Girsu cost?
Pricing is quoted per practice during the demo, because it depends on the number of operatories, locations, and which plugins a clinic turns on. The demo itself is free, includes a migration assessment of your current system, and carries no obligation.
See it running on your own practice data.
We will load a copy of your current system into a secure demo environment and walk your team through their real schedule, their real charts, and their real numbers — before you commit to anything.
- 45 minutes, no slide deck. A working system, your data, your workflows.
- A migration assessment. What comes across cleanly from your current PMS, and what needs attention.
- No obligation and no pressure. If it is not right for your practice, we will say so.
